Our stay at lavender home was fantastic, it is homely, comfortable and the hospitality was out of this world. The rooms are clean and the AC is cold so after a humid day it was much needed. We had our 2 year old with us and the hosts were so friendly and gracious with him that he felt right at home in their arms! The seating area overlooking the rice paddy was ideallic and we spent many hours relaxing on the balcony. We got given local fruit and king coconuts to try. We had dinner at the property each night and the fresh Sri Lankan curries were fantastic! They also arranged a safari to Yala national park, it was well organised and included a packed breakfast and lunch. We definitely recommend staying at lavender home if you are planning on visiting Tissa.

By far the cleanest and neatest place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Wonderful gardens and pool, very helpful and friendly staff , excellent breakfast! An oasis for the safari goers . They even give you a packed breakfast at 5am for early morning safari

The location is very quiet, within walking distance of the smaller lake and a 5-minute drive to Tissa lake. It is a good base to explore the area. I also booked 2 safari's with them. Everything was well-organised, from start to finish.

The place was absolutely amazing! We had a big, brand-new room with a queen bed and AC – but designed in a style you can only dream of when imagining a stay inside a national park. You can truly immerse yourself in nature, sit on a porch or a terrace up in the trees, and simply observe the wildlife around you. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a safari. On top of that, the people and the food are just wonderful!

It's a fruit/chicken farm located on a lake shore. We stayed in detached cottage, and it was spacious and comfortable.

Owned by an amazing local family, very sweet, welcoming and helpful. They cooked dinner for us and arranged a driver to our next destination. The place is great and clean, highly recommended.

Located on the edge of a rice field and a 5-minute walk from the shores of Lake Yoda, Gaga Bees Yala features free WiFi in public areas. This Eco friendly resort offers an outdoor infinity pool. We really like it here, some characteristic traditional huts, rice fields, nature, swimming pool. The waiter received us very warmly and helped us carry our suitcases. The hotel is open to dining, we had dinner here and continued to lunch the next day after checking out. Yala Safari can be booked at the hotel for a reasonable price. At 5:00 AM the jeep will pick you up promptly and take you back after the event.
