Jo and Marcel were amazing hosts! So helpful and friendly. The location is amazing with an unbeatable view. Would definitely come back again.

Loved that there was always a dog or guests roaming around, but it was still extremely quiet and laid back. Klaus, the proprietor, is a fantastic host who loves to chat while he goes about his day. 10/10 experience, can’t wait to come back!!

Large area with a great outdoors space. Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting the bay of islands, which was one of my favorite places in New Zealand. We had one room with a lot of area, and another with very little area, so that was interesting.

Kingsgate Hotel Paihia offers a memorable waterfront location, just 100 metres from Paihia wharf. The hotel offers views across the Bays brilliant blue sea and out to Russell. Great location, our room had beautiful views, impeccably clean and staff were friendly.

Ala Moana Motel is located on the waterfront in central Paihia. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with a TV with 50 satellite channels and a patio. Why stay anywhere else? This is the PERFECT location and it has convenient parking. The host is magnificent. He was always available to chat and give recommendations. I so enjoyed staying here. It wasn't just a good place to stay it was part of my holiday. I really can't recommend this motel enough. If you are after a clean, conveniently located motel this is the place to be. There are other motels in the Bay of Islands that I saw as a I drove around but I don't know why you wouldn't want to be located directly in front of the beach with all the convenience that brings. This was a great find.

Waitangi Holiday Park provides an ideal base to explore Northland and the Bay of Islands. Situated on the banks of the Waitange River, it is close to Te Tii Bay and local beaches. Cabin was spacious and well-equipped with a lovely location right near the water. So nice to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning and just relax. Shared facilities were great!—Kitchen has plenty of cooktops and sinks. Bathrooms were super clean and showers were nice and hot. Staff were very accommodating with storing bags before check-in and allowing a slightly later checkout. So friendly and helpful!

Allure Lodge was a great location for us to attend our conference. Great views from the deck and two of the bedrooms. Our host was very friendly and checked into ensure that everything was okay. This would be an ideal house for a family over summer.

Just 150 metres from Paihia Beach, Austria Motel offers self-contained accommodation with a private balcony and free WiFi. It features a barbecue area and a sunny terrace with lovely bay views. This motel is well located, close to the water, shops and restaurants. The owners offer recommendations for activities (some can be arranged at the front desk) and restaurants, as well as membership discounts at the Swordfish Club. The room is quiet, spacious and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. I loved the balcony, overlooking the water and the hillside, it is a great place for morning coffee and an evening beverage. There is parking on site included with the room.
