Set in São Martinho, within a 10-minute drive from Funchal, Vila Marta offers accommodation with a private terrace and views of the Atlantic Ocean and banana plantations. excellent hospitality, Joel and his son, Bruno, were so kind and helpful. the rooms were spotless and made up daily, the fresh fruit upon arrival and daily bread deliveries were thoughtful touches. location was perfect for exploring the island and also getting in and out of Funchal with the ease.

Hotel Madeira is a 3-star hotel in Funchal's city centre, close to shops and restaurants. It offers free WiFi access. Each room has a private bathroom with walk-in shower and hairdryer. The breakfast had something for everyone and was different day to day. I particularly loved the fruit,yogurt and bread choices.

Hotel Catedral offers elegantly decorated rooms in Funchal’s city centre. It features panoramic views of the area. It also offers free WiFi, as well as free parking. Everything was great! The staff was very nice with us and the best thing was that for the days that we woke up early the breakfast was ready even in 4:00 a.m Totally recomanded!

With ocean views, Hotel Euro Moniz is only 100 metres from the pools in Porto Moniz. All Euro Moniz’s rooms have a cable TV and a bathroom with a bathtub or a shower. Some rooms feature balconies. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location right next to the natural pools. Nice indoor swimming pool as well. Good breakfast. Clean room.

Boasting views of the Atlantic Ocean, Florasol Residence Hotel is a 12-minute drive from Funchal city centre. It has a large outdoor pool and offers self-catering rooms and apartments. Nice and big room with kitchen and very very very very good breakfast!!!!

Apartamentos Turisticos Avenue Park is a self-catering accommodation located in Funchal, within 1 km from many shops and restaurants. Free WiFi access is available throughout. We spent ten nights in our apartment and we couldn't be more happy about it: location is perfect, both to visit the city on foot and to take public transportation: several bus lines stop just in front of the building (including the bus to and from the airport) and also the harbour is really close. There is a supermarket just 5 minutes walking distance, a wonderful bakery even nearer and the casino/disco (if interested!) is just across the road. The apartment we stayed in was really spacious, with kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom (and a small balcony too, perfect to drink something or just to dry off clothes and hiking shoes), so it did not feel claustrophobic at all and was on the contrary super comfortable and airy. Kitchen was also super equipped with all the necessary for a no-stress stay. Basic cleaning was done everyday. Staff people were wonderful, always ready to help and very kind and available. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! Thank you for everything! P.S. there is also a really nice shared communal area with water, hot drinks, books... We did not use it (there was so much to do in the island in just 10 days!), but it was a nice additional touch!

Quinta Santo Antonio Da Serra is situated in the Madeira countryside, only 18 km from Funchal. All of the self contained apartments have a real wood fireplace and a balcony. Beautiful location on the island of Madeira. If you want to get away from the city and experience a small village mountain town this is the perfect location. They had a great kitchen, staff provided fresh towels and emptied our trash every day. The fireplace kept us warm in the winter and you are walking distance to the town to try Bola de Cacao. We visited the Farmers Market and they had a small grocery store for items. You will need a car, while the bus does arrive there, you will find it easier to get around the island with a rental. We were greeted by staff and she was able to show us all the features of the apartment. It really does feel like paradise with the mountains, clouds and rainforest like experience.
