The view from the room was stunning, and the place was incredibly peaceful. We slept with the window open and had no issues with noise or mosquitoes. The restaurant was very good, offering an excellent selection of local meats. The location is also fantastic, close to Pitões das Junias with plenty of beautiful walking trails nearby.

The staff went out of their way to help. The beds were large and comfortable. It is winter in Portugal but the rooms were warm. The food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced and waiting staff were open, welcoming and helpful

The property location was very good and directly across from one of the nicer beaches on the lake. You could rent small boats or kayaks there and easy access to the beach directly across from the hotel. The hotel is extremely clean and well kept. we ate dinner in the hotel our first night and found that the owner and his wife are not only the people that check in, but the people that wait on you and cook the food. Their heart and soul is put into this Hôtel and the food was one of the best meals we’ve had in Portugal in over two weeks. It is not a fancy restaurant, but the food and the service is exceptional and should not be missed if you’re in this area even if you don’t stay in the hotel. Both Victor and Rosa are extremely kind and caring people. This has been one of our best experiences traveling Portugal. We came home one night with a bottle of wine and some food and Victor gave us a knife and plates and napkins to take to our room so we could cut up our cheese and have a plate to eat on. Rosa wakes early to make all the breads and croissants fresh for your breakfast in the morning, and the breakfast should not be missed. There is nothing like grabbing hold of a warm fresh baked roll for your breakfast along with all the other wonderful things they had for us. This was a stay we will not forget and it is highly recommended if you are in the national park

Surrounded by mountains and lagoons, Águas do Gerês Hotel features seasonal outdoor pools integrated into the lush Peneda-Gerês National Park, about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Superb location, newly renovated, all mod-cons plus spa access, a good restaurant and an excellent breakfast! JUST GREAT! We came here after trying to access the nearby chalet, Teixeira Home, where the cobble-stone access was so slippery and steep that our car didn't make it there. Despite the fact, that booking and the owner did not wave the cancellation fee (!), we are feeling blessed that we found Aguas do Geres. Located right in the middle of a charming resort town, with other good restaurants around, and amazing nature at our doorstep. A pleasure even in the continuous rain we experienced. We will be back, I hope.
