Hotell Fängelset Västervik is a converted prison built in the late 1800s and is located right next to Västervik Station. Some of the rooms are refurbished prison cells. Perfect location, right next to the train/bus station. Super friendly staff. Very good ratio price/quality/location. Good choice for breakfast. Practicality-we'be been to fancier hotels that lacked hooks for towels or had dumb fancy showers leaking all over. Here there was no luxery but everything we needed like space to hang wet towels, space to put your own cosmetics etc. The room was tiny, but we were there just for one night and we were happy with it. Its a plus that it has a common kitchen and a darts room and board games-for the next trip with friends it's the perfect place

This family-owned hotel is centrally located in the coastal town of Västervik, only 150 metres from the Västervik train station. It offers free Wi-Fi access. I usually don’t write reviews, but I loved this hotel so much I feel they deserve special recognition. Older hotels can often be a little shabby despite renovations, but this place has both cosy, old world charm while achieving standards for cleanliness, upkeep, and comfort equal to the best hotels. Being a short and easy walk to the bus and train station as well as the city center, it was in a perfect location. Staff at the desk were welcoming, helpful, and efficient, and without my asking, helped me carry my luggage up the stairs since there is no elevator. My room was nicely proportioned, quiet, and very cosy. Breakfast was great. There is also a nice little lounge in the reception area with tea and coffee for fika alone or with others. (And for a delicious fika treat, check out Bageri 96° on Stora Torget!) I only wish I could have stayed here more than one night!

Situated in central Oskarshamn, Best Western Sjöfartshotellet offers free parking, free Wi-Fi access and marine-themed rooms with a flat-screen TV. Lilla Torget Square is a 5-minute walk away. It was a very charming place very close to the city center, the room was spacious and cozy, the lounge area was very charming, with a nice coffee machine! The breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic! Very good deal for the price! Highly recommend!

Hotell Hamnen is in Färjestaden and features scenic views over the Kalmarsund Strait from all rooms. Rooms here will provide you with a flat-screen TV, balcony and sea views. Location was fantastic! Happy that was possible to stay with dog.

This 1870s mansion is situated beside Tobo Golf Course, 15 minutes’ drive from Astrid Lindgren’s World. Boat and canoe rentals are free for guests. Free WiFi is available. It is a very nice hotel and extremely good restaurant. The garden and the lake are wonderful. Breakfast was very good too.

This hotel is definitely a gem of Öland. Very cosy, spacious and tidy room, great shared space with well-equipped kitchen. The personnel is super friendly. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant with traditional dishes cooked according to the recipe of the owner's family. A cold bottle of prosecco was delicious too. The breakfast was tasty and the restaurant is lovely. Perfect quality for the money.

This hotel lies only 10 minutes' walk from Borgholm Castle on the island of Öland. It features a large garden, ideal for relaxing in this peaceful setting. Very clean and beds were very comfortable. The so rounding is beautiful, it’s like a botanical garden.
