Set in a historically-listed building, this hotel is 7 minutes’ walk from Sundsvall Central Station and 350 metres from the Bothnian Sea. It offers free WiFi and individually decorated rooms with city views. The continental breakfast was excellent, and the location was perfect for us. I think that the property is extremely good value for money and one could tell that the staff worked hard to make our stay as seamless as possible. Also, we could tell that what the management are trying to do comes from the heart and the decor was oldie worldie but contemporary at the same time. In a nutshell, tasteful!

All have a modern bathroom with shower, hairdryer and toiletries. Location was excellent, very easy to reach from the highway. Late reception was the main benefit for us, as we were driving late. Breakfast was plenty to choose from, warm and cold dishes, stylish dining room, attentive waitresses very helpful, nice to start a day with smiling faces around at breakfast.

Also, there is free tea/coffee/hot chocolate and water available for free 24/7 in the dining area. My room was clean, cosy, bright and offered lovely views of the river at the back of the hotel. It had an armchair and a coffee table, and a desk and a chair, too. The bed was comfortable. My stay started with a little hiccup as I had not received any information about access codes prior to my check-in. I arrived at the locked hotel entrance and had to ring the number written on the door. Luckily a member of the staff (Johan) answered the phone and gave me instructions on how to get in. The reception is located on the 4th floor of the building, so it is a bit unusual. However, everything went smooth after that. Johan was very kind, showed me the common spaces and was very helpful. I felt welcome and comfortable. Johan also told me about a discount for the hotel guests in one of the nearby restaurants. I met him several times throughout my stay and he was always friendly and helpful. On my last day, the staff arranged for me to leave my luggage in the hotel after the check-out, even though it looked like it was not what they usually offered. I was very grateful for this act of kindness. The hotel offers really good services for the price of the stay. I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel and I am planning to stay there again on my future trips to Solleftea.
