We stayed at Shana Homestay twice during our time in Bali. We booked two rooms on both occasions. Our total three night experience was outstanding. Firstly, the atmosphere of this place is fantastic. Despite being on a very busy street, the serenity and calm once inside the property is remarkable. This is also aided by the property being a traditional Balinese house - beautiful architecture and structure which gives you a real sense of what living in Bali is like. Secondly, the rooms were also super clean, comfortable and very spacious. There was plenty of room to store luggage, walk around and get ample sunlight from the windows. The beds were also very comfortable to sleep on. Finally, the hosts are wonderful. Yoyok and his family were very welcoming and accommodating in all aspects. They always interacted with us with respect and a smile, which goes a long way. Yoyok was instrumental in organising 4 taxis that we booked for prices that were lower than Grab/Gojek. He also helped us get some laundry and ironing done and also made homemade breakfast at 6:30am one day. Not to mention giving us lots of useful information about what to see, how much time to give something and what to expect. Thank you Yoyok and the wider family!

This is an amazing retreat, offering complete harmony with nature. You’ll fall asleep to the sounds of cicadas, birds, rain, and other natural melodies. The location is fantastic—you get a breathtaking view of the forest/jungle with complete privacy. As of January 2025, there is no construction nearby, so it’s perfectly tranquil. The design of the hotel is stylish and modern, as it’s a new property (just a few months old). There are no unpleasant odors (which can sometimes be an issue in Bali), and the air conditioning works perfectly. The staff are simply incredible! They’re always ready to assist you with any questions or needs. It’s the kind of guest service you wish for in every hotel around the world. The breakfasts are excellent, and you can also order lunch or dinner here. Additional services like bike rentals, laundry, and massages are available, making your stay even more convenient. Since it’s a new place, there are a few minor drawbacks, but I’m confident they are actively working to improve. One important note: the property is located about 15 km from the center of Ubud. A one-way trip by taxi or scooter takes 40–50 minutes, and there’s practically nothing nearby.

Belalu was everything we wanted & more. We came for our honeymoon and the owner Christo welcomed us with an incredible honeymoon experience with rose petals, massages & delicious breakfast. The cobra room was incredible with a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the jungle! The staff were so friendly & helpful. Such a unique experience & we will definitely be back!

Beautiful new little villas with amazing views of fields and palm trees. A few good cafes around easy to get to by scooter. The best part about our stay were the owners Komang and Perak. They are the most welcoming and friendly people and they really make you feel at home right away. They went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible and treated us like their own family.

We had a long stay for 25 days and couldn't recommend Sativa Villas higher. All the staff were exceptional and made us feel like an extension of their family. Wonderful service, great Balinese hospitality and effortless with all logistics. Meals were fresh, delicious and prepared on request. Clean facilities, Wonderful private pool and very private villa.
