It’s so peaceful and calming, right on the lake. Micheal the owner checked on us now and then as we were 5 females aged 16-65 on our own we really appreciated that !Lovely kind man! It was large, clean and really well equiped. We were met by Hazel , she was so sweet and had the cottage heated and welcoming, even a nice welcome cake.

April 2024. Beautiful location. Exceptionally clean. Stylish conversion. Every comfort provided - well equipped kitchen, comfortable seating and beds, central heating plus solid fuel burners. Information provided on how everything worked. One small issue arose which was dealt with by the owner immediately. Lots of parking. Stayed in many UK and Eire self catering properties over the years. Definitely in top three.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Big and nice garten to relax and children have a lot of place to play. Some outdoor plays ( ping pong, Minigolf ...). Beds are very good. We loved the location. Very tranquil and quite, we woke up to the sound of cows lowing. Only a stone's throw from the N5, while off the beaten track the Old Mill is just an hour away from Westport and even closer to Sligo and Athlone. Gerry and Isabel were amazing hosts and went far beyond what one would expect from a host. We experienced some difficult circumstances during our time there and they were extremely generous in their support. A 5 star rating just doesn't do them justice. On arrival they had soda bread, eggs and milk to get us going. Internet was great and the place heated up in no time. The Old Mill is a place I would love to return to. The area is steeped in history and there is something very special about this lovely spot.

The peace and tranquility of Teachiń milis Móinéir were second to none. Host Karen has thought of everything to make her guest's stay exceptional. We could not have asked for more. The cosy stove in the evenings (logs and fire log to start included) the welcome pack of bread, milk and butter, tea and coffee, bottled water in case you don't like the tap water (which is fine btw), toiletries in case you've forgotten your own. We wanted for nothing and being honest, were reluctant to leave this little haven!
