One of the most exceptional accomodations i ever stayed in. Higly recommended! Hittori-San is a very kind landlord and took his time to talk about the rich history of this house and the changes his ancestors had to go through during the Meji-Restauration. The interior is kept as traditional as possible with modern confy additions as the restroom and the shower.

Staying in a machiya townhouse is an experience in itself. The place was clean and well maintained, too. Bath with a window onto a small garden was a highlight. The futons on the tatami and thin pillows make for a hard sleeping surface, but that is what you're signing up for - the traditional experience.

Everything! The owners were friendly and helpful. The design, layout and facilities of the room showed good forethought for the comfort of guests and how to get the best out of the space. The room provided lots of space for us and included everything we needed for our stay including a washing machine and a bench to catch up on emails. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the shower had enough space to stretch your arms out! The location is in a quiet residential part of the city adjoining one of the old traditional geisha areas. One of the city loop buses which stops at the main tourist sites and railway station has a designated stop a few streets away if you do not want to walk or if it is raining. We would choose to stay here again if back in Kanazawa.

The hostess is amazingly kind and friendly. Many thanks for that. Very helpful and replies quickly with good information. Besides that, the hostess speaks English very well. The house gave me a lovely authentic traditional feeling. The space is very big in my opinion and has lots of appliances. Most of the things have English instructions with them. Besides that the house is very clean. There is a bus stop very close to the house, but most of the things are within walking distance for me.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the shower had enough space to stretch your arms out! The location is in a quiet residential part of the city adjoining one of the old traditional geisha areas. One of the city loop buses which stops at the main tourist sites and railway station has a designated stop a few streets away if you do not want to walk or if it is raining. We would choose to stay here again if back in Kanazawa.
