Maria went out of her way to make it as comfortable as possible. There were fruits, snacks, and drinks to choose from. The apartment is immaculate. It was very cold and wet, and the lovely fireplace warmed us up quickly. The apartment is a bit out of the way, but a quick walk to the town centre, and you will be close to all the shops and restaurants.

Despite what it previously may have said on booking.com there is excellent wifi, and parking is just 25 metres from the house. Many thanks to owner Rita who, with husband Emilio, runs the excellent bar/restaurant in the village. The surrounding area is full of forest walks, and centred on the awe-inspiring Cañon de Sil.8

Very easy check in process, with all the instructions sent ahead of time and easy to follow (videos included). The villa was exactly as described - we spent most of our timing sitting on the terrace looking at the river and saying hello to the locals who walked by. The vending machines are such a smart idea - we bought everything we needed from there. The kitchen has all the utensils you might need (including a corkscrew!). We had a perfect stay and can't recommend it strongly enough! The road to get there is a bit tricky - I am not the best driver and I could make it though (my boyfriend drove on the way out!).

The host was very communicative in order to meet us to hand over the keys, and he was very accommodating to our changing arrival time. The accommodation and property were much nicer than we were expecting, and the home was very homey and comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it seemed very well stocked for someone who would want to cook.

This place was an absolute gem and I highly recommend staying here! We stayed with a group of pilgrims and ended up booking the property last minute and the hosts were so helpful and responsive and made sure the heating was on. The apartment itself is 3 floors and absolutely gorgeous, complete with a little garden outside. We had a great time here and would absolutely come back.
