The whole apartmament was very nice, fully equipped, sauna was great, we did not check the fireplace in the end but the overall experience was really good. Joonas was super helpful and was responding very fast. If I'm ever in Rovaniemi, which is likely to happen, I will definitely check if this house is available again.

Host is friendly and always responsive. We also did the activities provided by the villa, they arranged everything beautifully and we had a lot of fun. They also arranged all the transportations for us since we didn’t have a car. The villa is away from town, so we had to make sure we had enough groceries for our stay as there’s no close by grocery. Will definitely come again :)

The nearest airport is Ivalo Airport, 26 km from Villas Karhunpesä. We stayed in Villa Asta. As a couple it was extremely spacious and well equipped. We loved the sauna and the easy access to the back deck so we could do cheeky snow baths in between sauna sessions. The Villa is situated in a forest area away from town. While there are other cabins nearby it felt quite private and quiet. We didn’t have a car but we found it quite okay; It’s about 30 min walk into town to get groceries, which we didn’t mind because there are plowed, well lit and well signposted walking paths all the way into town through the beautiful forest. There is also a cafe (Laanilan Savottakahvila) about 10-15 min walk into the opposite direction, which again was easy to walk to. You can also catch the ski bus from this cafe. We found the Villa to be warm and cozy. And we loved the large windows that look out into the winter forest.

Amazingly, I was able to use the hot tub even in -35°C. Everything was perfectly clean, and the host was very communicative and friendly. She took us on a number of fantastic excursions, including a home-cooked Sámi dinner, snowmobiling, and ice fishing, and she is very knowledgable about Sámi culture. She made sure we had all the proper gear for staying warm and took good care of us. The cabin is only a few feet from a lake and also a short walk away from a resort where you can get meals. In the winter, the frozen lake is a perfect spot for viewing aurora. The drive to get there from Ivalo is also very beautiful. If you are willing to drive a little, there are some nice villages and museums in the area as well. I would definitely come back. Thank you, Teija, for a wonderful stay.

The cottage is in a pristine and peaceful location, right next to the lake and forest. In room sauna is a wonderful plus alongside with the great surroundings. The owner is very kind, we arrived Rovaniemi on Sat and then just found out the public bus runs only on weekdays, the owner is so kind to give us a ride on the tour bus that he is managing that day.
