And you really can't beat the views out onto the water. The communication was great, and I felt really well considered even though I realize I didn't interact with anyone to check in or out (but did eat at the Inn and used the shop for snacks). It was a really special place even with the rain, a delayed Ferry ride, and coming in the dark. I want to return and stay longer!

The hut is super nicely decorated, has everything you need and more, including some snacks provided as a nice touch. Easy to find with the owner’s directions, you feel like you are completely alone in the nature with a beautiful view, except for some cute sheep grazing around in the morning when you wake up! Melfort Village is set in a lochside location, 24 km from Oban. Furnace is 23 km away.

All units have outdoor seating areas with barbecue. Pets are welcome at Melfort Village for a small charge. Some units have open fires or wood burners. this place is great. You're tucked away in the hills and valleys below Oban. You're really in nature - with lots of paths to walk, easy to go to Easdale (a local recommendation) and overall a cozy stay. Olwan is a gem - she drew lovely maps for us, with recommendations of places and things for us to do. Go to the Kilmaford Bar on Tuesday nights for Live local music. IT was the highlight of our WHOLE trip.

Around 13 miles from Oban, the luxurious Bonawe House Holiday Cottages offers apartment and cottage accomodation in the Scottish Highlands. On the edge of the village of Taynuilt, between Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan, this property has free Wi-Fi and parking. Our family of four rented one of the vacation homes at Bonawe House. The furnishings in the vacation home were excellent, and there was plenty of space. The kitchen and bathroom had been renovated and were equipped with the latest technology (induction stove!). We particularly loved the beautiful gardens on the estate, including the duck pond—lots for the children to discover! The landlords, Renate and Damon, are very friendly and extremely helpful. Communication worked really well. All in all: a wonderful week's vacation in great accommodation! We'd love to come back.
