Featuring a Thai restaurant and tearooms, the Kells Bay House is set on 40 acres of unique gardens with subtropical plants. Best hotel I've ever stayed in. It's more like a retreat than a hotel. Four or five quiet comfortable bedrooms in a stunning, peaceful location, with its own private path down to the bay, and prize winning gardens where the sound of running water fills your eardrums. I felt totally renewed after one night there and I cannot wait to go back.

This cottage is down a winding road where two cars cannot pass each other. The Gap of Dunloe is a wander to behold, though the road was much more narrow than I had realized. It is passable with patience and it is worth the journey. It was wonderfully idyllic. Horse and traps passed in front of cottage. Penny, the host, said it's possible to schedule a ride and be picked up at the house, but we didn't have the time. We walked to dinner at Kate Kearney's and enjoyed the scenery. Sheep and horses graze as you walk in the shadows of the mountains past the many lakes. I watched sheep graze beside the cottage as I drank my morning coffee. Would definitely schedule again if ever on this side of the world again.

Closed to Killarney, Ring of Kerry and everything else. The house has good open spaces, enough beds and a well appointed kitchen. We were 7 people and the house was large enough for us.
