峠のお宿 巧の実家 Magome Guest House, Along the Nakasendo Trail ligger i Magome-distriktet i Nakatsugawa, tæt på Magome Observatory. Her er en terrasse og vaskemaskine. When we arrived at the gare station a man (the son of the family) welcomed us warmly. He kindly drove us to a supermarket to buy some useful items (food, etc) for our staying and he would already send to our airbnb. Then he dropped us at the beginning of Magome path to be able to enjoy the walk to the house. When we arrived to the house, the mother and son showed us the house with all the explanations of use. They gently asked us which kind of restaurant we would have liked to go dinner. We were surprised the price of our stay included all the car transport. The family host was alaways available if we had an emergency. We were never in no need, food and drinks were full in the kitchen. We enjoyed the house to the fullest: comfortable beds, nice bathroom, the landscape was peaceful. All the rooms of this house were well presented with all the accomodations. The living room with the tatami mats was incredible with many toys, books. The decoration is authentic. There is a smoking area aoutside with an ashtray. Until the last day the father of the family drove us back to the gare station. We have so much great memories of this place along the Nakasendo road.

Tsuki-Akari Takayama - Japanese Traditional House with Open-air Bath ligger lige i hjertet af Takayama, 3,6 km fra Hida Folk Village og 49 km fra Gero Station. Her er en gårdhave og gratis wi-fi. Fantastic little house. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, everything in the house was beautifully done. The outdoor bath and private little garden were a huge bonus. The location was excellent, a short walk to where we wanted to go but a very quiet area.

We arrived after our chilly hike along the trail to a very warm and inviting traditional home. It was stocked with tea, coffee and drinks in the fridge, as well as some snacks. There were so many different areas to sit and relax in the home, we felt soo welcome and at home we did not want to leave. This was a stark contrast to our Air bnb we had in Kyoto where we felt we could not relax or enjoy the property. The sleepy town was fun to explore, the cafe next door was also very warm and welcoming filled with music and warmth. And the beds!! Being 6 months pregnant I was a little worried about the traditional futons on the floor but it was the best sleep I has the whole 3 weeks in Japan. I also appreciated the number of chairs for me to sit in. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.

The outdoor grill got plenty of use for hida beef family dinners. The tatami bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. The kids loved playing in the small backyard.

花緑里-Hanamidori-乙原のやど 岐阜下呂温泉郡上飛騨金山湖畔リゾート ligger i Gujo, kun 19 km fra Gero Station. Her er en terrasse, direkte adgang til pisterne og roomservice. They really made you feel as if you were a part of their family and took time out of their day to show me around the area and drive me to many different areas all while having really nice conversations.

飛騨高山浮世絵INN画侖 ligger i lige i hjertet af Takayama og har et boblebad. Dette feriehus ligger 2,7 km fra Hida Folk Village og 48 km fra Gero Station. Everything! The house itself is an amazing gallery with so many art exhibits, all of them lovely. The home theater system is truly great, very easy to use. The owner helped us with knowing the house and how to handle anything in it, he made us feel like home. Great location, right in the middle of the old town, just 13 minutes walk from the Takayama station so it is very easy to get to. If we will ever be back in Takayama, there is absolutely no doubt, I will try to sleep there again ! Seriously, if it is available, don't hesitate, you won't have another chance to sleep in this kind of accomodations..

Souwaan har gratis wi-fi og ligger i centrum af Takayama, 7 minutters gang fra Takayama Station og 2,8 km fra Hida Folk Village. The house is one of the traditional houses in the town. It is extremely comfortable, lovely futon beds, a great shower, separate toilets, air con. We had a memorable stay and I would highly recommend. The owner also let us keep our luggage in the lobby after check out while we went to a cookery class.

Yoshiki Stay ligger 15 km fra Takayama Station. Overnatningsstedet har gratis wi-fi og gratis privat parkering. Very big Japanese style house. All facilities are great. Very close to town few minutes walk. Very impressive place.

Absolutely gorgeous property with so many thoughtful touches. The huge bath was unforgettable, the beds were comfortable, the verandah was beautiful and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. We really appreciated the washing machine and the drinks provided.
