The villa is located in a perfect spot, close to several restaurants (fine dining and casual dining). The room was much bigger than we expected and the kids enjoyed the ample space available in the room. What made the villa special was the amenities available for kids (swimming pool, fussball, board games etc.) Its a very cute space overall at such a reasonable price. If we were to visit Colombo again, this place would definitely be my first pick. The staff was very warm and accommodating..Impressed with Sri Lankan hospitality!

We had a lovely time at this homestay. The house is large and spacious with an abundance of room for everyone to have a comfortable stay. Inside the house was really clean and had all the amenities to make it feel like you were at home. The host was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor garden and veranda was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful & quiet. Didn't have time to play but you could play badminton. They even have rackets & net. Highly recommend this place that is located centrally in the heart of Colombo for those who seek quiet comfort with a luxury feel.

You look out onto greenery and it instantly brings you close to nature. There's a beautiful forest of rubber trees close by, and you can take a bike ride or walk though it. The host is wonderful, kind, and hospitable. And they cooked great food. Come here if you want to get away from Colombo for a bit, or need some time in nature.

The house is a short tuk tuk ride away from all the shops you would need. Even though we checked in late and in the dark (due to power cut),the host was understanding and helpful, so much so he helped us get our necessities out of his own pocket, which we paid back immediately. The rooms are big with comfy beds and clean bedding. This would be our B&B in Colombo always.

I have waited writing a review , cause I stayed in other places and hotels. But this place deserves a 12/12 . It is the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka by far. The whole house is designed with exquisite taste and the host provides you with everything you need from oats and milk and coffee to make your own coffee. It made a massive difference staying there after our arrival in Colombo to recharge and refuel. Beautiful diffusers we’re on to dispel the Moskitos and every room was designed with so much love, expensive high qualitative furniture, books, games, a sowing kit - nothing was to much to do and help was there immediately. Staying at Cottage by the Lake in Thalawathugoda was truly the best experience of my lifetime! The rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained, offering the perfect level of comfort. The serene surroundings and picturesque views make it an ideal retreat for nature lovers It's like stepping into a little paradise. The owner is an absolute gem. So kind, warm, and accommodating, which made our stay even more delightful. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway close to nature with exceptional hospitality, this is the place to be!
