When my driver edged up the narrow-inclined driveway of this very modern home, I didn’t know what to expect. But Pearle and her husband Ranjan greeted me with broad smiles and open arms. After they had retired, they built this sophisticated home on their family’s property. Since the terrain of Matale is mostly mountainous, their home is perched up high on a small hill, allowing a beautiful view of the city from their wide terrace. Communication was swift and efficient as their daughter fielded email questions from the UK. English was spoken perfectly by all members of the family, so no worries for any miscommunication. I had arrived in the late afternoon and Pearle offered me tea. Ranjan returned with some short eats and we sat around chatting. The conversation was easy and I felt like I was visiting good friends for the afternoon. My room was located just off their living room with an adjacent bathroom with contemporary fixtures – it felt like I was in a fancy hotel! The stylish room with extremely high ceilings was spacious and tastefully decorated with an enormous mosquito net tied with ribbons around the large four poster bed. There is a portable air conditioner/fan which was not really needed as the evenings are usually cool and temperate. Breakfast was a luxurious feast with red rice string hoppers, potato curry, dal, green gram and a delicious, spicy chicken curry. Watermelon, pineapple, and sweet juicy papaya from their garden rounded out the meal. After retirement, Pearle turned her interests to cooking and she is certainly an accomplished cook! My only regret was staying only one night and will certainly come back for a longer visit!

The hotel is beautiful and extremely peaceful. It is a bit outside the main town, which makes it a perfect place to stay if you want to be immersed in nature and more secluded from the crowds. It is a pretty short drive to Sigyria and Pidurangala Rock. The rooms are large, beautiful, very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and all the food was excellent. There is a lovely observation deck where you can watch the sunrise, play cards and relax with a cup of tea. There is a beautiful view of both Sigyria and Pidurangala Rock from the observation deck, and this was a highlight for us. Everyone working at the hotel is very kind and wants to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Highly recommend - we would definitely stay here again!

Harini Villa is the nicest, family run, hotel that we've stay at in Sri Lanka. It's spotlessly clean and very, very well maintained both inside and out. The room is very well appointed and freshily decorated with not the slightest bit of mold or mildew. The bed is very comfortable with nice soft pillows, the air conditioning is good and the shower works well with plenty of hot water and the shower area is large enough not to wet the whole bathroom. The inclusive breakfast is a delight, taken sitting at your own table on the shaded terrace outside your room overlooking the neat and tidy garden. A full Sri Lankan breakfast is served with hardboiled egg, string hoppers, lentil curry, coconut sambol, a selection of fruit, a small bottle of still water and coffee or tea. To make a change our second breakfast consisted of pancakes, omelets, bread and butter, coconut oat cakes with banana slices, fruit etc. The owner of the hotel and his family are very pleasant and extremely helpful and looked after us well.

Everything was special about the TreeHouse I stayed in. I an glad I stayed there and I wish I cold have stayed longer. The breakfast was tasty! The pool was cool and inviting. A very special place.

Vidunderligt sted midt i naturen kun en kort og meget smuk gåtur fra byens centrum og grottetemplet. Meget rart og hjælpsomt personale. Vi følte os meget velkomme. Masser af egern og en enkelt vild påfugl stødte vi på.

The owner was lovely and even picked us up from our previous accommodation and took us wherever we needed. The room was quiet and comfy and breakfast was amazing!

Tree Top View Tree House ligger 1,5 km fra Sigiriya-klippen og tilbyder gratis cykler og en have samt indkvartering med aircondition, terrasse og gratis wi-fi. We loved the stay at this Tree House! The Room is very nice, there is a Nice Garden and also a Nice view with Balcony ! The room was very beautiful with a balcony and a perfect view on Lion Rock. The service was great as well! Everyone was so nice and helpful and everything was taken care of. They organised activites for us and also a taxi to the airport. We will come back for sure when we are in Sigiriya :)

Sigiri Bloom Villa ligger i Sigiriya, 3,4 km fra Sigiriya-klippen og 4,5 km fra Pidurangala-klippen, og har en have og udsigt til en have. Very nice stuff,nice and comfortable house with the kitchen Delicious breakfast. Safari's proposal was beneficial and interesting I recommend this house:)

Sigiri Veenus Tree House er et overnatningssted med en have og en terrasse der ligger i Sigiriya, 3 km fra Sigiriya-klippen, 6,1 km fra Pidurangala-klippen og 15 minutters gang fra Wildlife Range... We stayed with Nuwan during cyclone Ditwah. His hospitality, kindness and generosity made a stressful situation much more manageable. The treehouse itself is perfect - plenty of space, strong ac, mosquito net, great bathroom and a cool balcony. We woke up each morning to a beautiful breakfast prepared by Nuwan. I cannot recommend this place enough and I assure you that Nuwan will make your stay a memorable one!

Sigiriya Eco Tree House er et overnatningssted med en have og en terrasse der ligger i Sigiriya, 11 km fra Sigiriya-klippen, 14 km fra Pidurangala-klippen og 10 km fra The Forgotten Temple Kaludiya... Apparently we were their 20th visit and even then, the properly looks brand new! So clean, so beautifully built, the AC is amazing and the bathroom is lovely. The shower has hot & cold water. Also a lovely sitting area in the garden. The breakfast was yummy too. The family who owns this place is so sweet and extremely helpful. They organized us a cooking class, gave us tips when we needed it and made our stay extra special.
