The Villa was very clean and the private garden with pool was amazing! The location is a big plus with Dickwella beach just 100m away and Hiriketiya just around the corner. The staff were very friendly, checked in daily to ask if we needed help, and provided guidance on activities and transport, and always with a big smile. I recommend!

Overview: Ruwan Jungle Homestay is worth your money. If you're curious about the details, keep reading. Location: The homestay is not too far from the beach, with several great restaurants in the vicinity, like Jungle Soul, 101 Restaurant, and Petti Petti – all of which I recommend. Situated at the forest's edge, the area is rich in wildlife, offering sightings of peacocks, various monkeys, countless birds, and even a monitor lizard. If you enjoy being around animals, this place is for you, though be prepared for some noise. The nearby beach is also great for watching turtles in the morning. The Host: I have to mention Ruwan, the host. He was incredibly helpful, fulfilling our requests without asking for extra payment, although I felt it was right to give him something. Just let Ruwan know what you need, and he'll handle it. Additionally, the food Ruwan prepared for us was incredibly delicious. We had curry shrimp that was simply unforgettable. The Room: Our room was excellent, featuring its kitchen where we occasionally cooked seafood. The facilities, including the internet, were all in good working order. I worked remotely for two weeks, and the internet service met my needs. Just a note: as I did, you might need to ask Ruwan to upgrade the internet service for a fee if you require faster speeds. Conclusion: I wholeheartedly recommend Ruwan Jungle Homestay for anyone looking for a comfortable stay close to nature, with excellent service and unforgettable food.

Everything! Staff - the staff were absolutely fantastic - attentive, helpful, polite and happy. Dinuka and his team went out of there way to ensure our stay was special. Dinuka was always happy to have a conversation and give us interesting facts about Sri Lanka and the food that we were eating, as well offering tips of where to visit during our time. Not only this but Dinuka always showed an interest in what we were doing for the day, and seemed genuinely interested, always asking how it went when we returned to the hotel. Throughout our stays in Sri Lanka and around the world I would say this was best service we have ever received. Food - the breakfast which was included in our stay was nothing short of brilliant. A wide range of things to choose off the menu and huge portions. One of the evenings Dinuka went to a local fish market on the day and chose a fish for us to eat one of the nights which was cooked to perfection in a marinade and served to us on the beach. It is clear that Dinuka and his team have a genuine love of their job, and enjoy providing their guests with the best service possible. We also had dinner in the hotel a few other nights and they offer a wide range of food - all of the food we had was very good and fresh. They also offer a drinks menu with beers and cocktails. It is well catered for all. Facilities - the hotel is on the beach and has a swimming pool also. With only four rooms in the hotel we were often in the pool by ourselves or on the beach by ourselves. The beach is very quiet as there is no public access and as such makes the stay feel that extra bit special. The room was comfortable and had AC. It was clean, tidy and the staff cleaned it daily for us. We also got upgraded on arrival to a slightly bigger room as it was available by Dinuka which was very kind. Although this hotel is expensive, it was definitely worth the money. We spent five nights here and loved our stay.

Very friendly owner and his family, they help you with everything. The room was amazing, very comfortable. Food was great. Location is the best, right outside the Forest Reserve, next to a river with lots of beautiful birds. The tour is great too!

This hotel is right on the ocean, where you can fall asleep and wake up to the sound of waves, and enjoy breakfast just 10 steps from the sea. Our room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The bathroom was large and spotless. The staff were extremely helpful and warm, making our stay truly enjoyable. They also arranged a SPA session for us, which was perfect at the end of our 8–9 day, five-city Sri Lanka trip. We had dinner one evening and were very satisfied—the portions were generous and filling. For breakfast, you can choose from local or international options on the menu. The hotel is within walking distance to Coconut Tree Hill, which offers one of the most beautiful views in the world. Saltasia Hotel in Mirissa is a must for any Sri Lanka trip and offers excellent value for money.

I had a wonderful stay at Wooden House Mirissa! The place is cozy, clean, and beautifully maintained with a peaceful garden view. The hosts are extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of Sri Lankan options to choose from. The location is also excellent, just a few minutes away from the beach and restaurants. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and homely stay in Mirissa!

We had a wonderful stay at Lovers Gem Villa Hiriketiya. This very cute villa was in a perfect location – 2 mins to the beach, close to restaurants, and with an ATM nearby which made everything so easy. The villa itself was beautiful and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were in Sri Lanka for a month, and this was by far our best accommodation. Whenever we needed anything, Geeshan, his brother, and their lovely mum were always there to help with a warm smile. They truly go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. What made our stay even more special were the thoughtful little touches – we were given very special gifts that we will treasure forever. Don’t hesitate to book here – highly recommended to anyone visiting Hiriketiya.
