The staff are there if you need them, but otherwise you can fully enjoy your privacy. Jose was all smiles, such a friendly guy. The villa itself was super clean, spacious and convenient, and the daily cleaning service was very thorough. I was prepared for insects in the room, power/water problems etc but there were no such issues at all. People complaining in the reviews about dampness/smell or gravel garden paths should really get a grip. Oh, and don't miss the Chan Paal tortilleria just across the road. They have exquisite food and super cool staff.

We were lucky to get a room with a view of the lagoon. The dock is perfect for lounging and for jumping into the crystal clear water. You can’t go wrong with Villa Marilu. We highly recommend it snd will come back someday!
