The cabin is very welcoming and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. We really enjoyed having our breakfasts in such beautiful surroundings. Helene and her partner were wonderful and attentive hosts - they also gave us lots of good suggestions of things to experience in the area, and nice restaurants. We really enjoyed the sauna experience and doing cold dipping. The whole stay was the highlight of our holiday in Norway and would definitely recommend!

After being there one day, I told my folks that I’d decided to stay forever and the Norwegian authorities would have to drag me out kicking and screaming. The heat works great and there was plenty of hot water. The views from the house are fantastic. There’s a church next door that was built in 18-something but there’s been a church there since 1330 and don’t forget to check out the 1,000 year-old cross by the church’s front door. The host was very kind and responsive. The price is quite attractive compared to the two hotels downtown and in my opinion you get so much more for your money with the village house. Finally, I measured the walk from the Joker grocery downtown to the front step of the house and it’s exactly 1/2 mile, or a 10-minute slow (and very pretty) walk.

Everything exceeded our expectations, and we truly hope to return one day. Highly recommended to anyone visiting this amazing part of Norway!”
