In the apartment itself there are plenty of guide books and maps. We also were welcomed by homemade jam, and fruits from the garden, which was incredibly nice.

This is a lovely spacious house with beautiful views, particularly from bedrooms where we could see Mount Pico from one and a lovely view across the bay and down to Lajes. At night it was dark enough to star gaze. I liked to sit out on the balcony to read and admire the view. It was so quiet with not a sound at night. The kitchen was well equipped. The host met us when we arrived and gave us lots of great ideas for places to visit. There is a supermarket 5 mins drive away and Lajes is a lovely little town. There were tomatoes and limes growing which we could pick and use.
