Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.
Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.
Travellers can park their car and explore the old town of this beautiful resort on foot. Home to 17 km of Blue Flag sandy beaches like Granatilla, the Playa de los Genoveses and the Playa de Monsul, the modern part of this coastal resort is an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, sailing and surfing. Golf lovers can visit the 18-hole courses of the Marina Golf and Desert Springs.
Almería Airport is about 55 km from Mojacar and has flights to big cities like London, Brussels and Barcelona. Check the Booking.com deals and choose from a variety of hotels, apartments and guest houses in Mojacar or the nearby cities of Vera and Carboneras.

A beautiful coastal resort with lots of various eating places, bars and shops for tourist. Although we were on half board we ate out some lunchtimes further into Mojacar Playa. Very easy to get around as there are plenty of buses going to various places and lots of free car parking spaces. There really is nothing that is untoward in Mojacar only thing I can think of is the beach further up towards the town has a big drop into the sea and not really suitable for children.

A beautiful setting completely turned over to tourism.
A beautiful setting completely turned over to tourism. Beachfront section is super developed and too lengthy to walk. Are those hotels all-inclusives? The lack of private restaurants and supermarkets would indicate so.

Fantastic views. Not many (or any ?)
Fantastic views. Not many (or any ?) eating places open early on Saturday evening in late November, but I was told sometimes they open up later on. If relying on this for a meal it's worth checking in advance. But it's an attractive settlement with impressive panoramic scenic views.

Best to take the bus to mojacar pueblo just 1euro.20 cents and leave the car at the hotel
The views are amazing and the various streets are picturesque. We live on an urbanisation in Spain and the difference is unique
Warm and friendly staff in reception and in the restaurant really made you feel welcome.
Enjoyed having the electric kettle in the room so that we could enjoy an early morning cup of tea - a new addition since our last stay.
Perfectly located along the playa to be able to enjoy the wide range of bars and restaurants in walking distance - would be our first choice hotel if we return to Mojacar again. We only had breakfast in the hotel this time
Stunning terrace with amazing view, a must for watching the sunsets. Quirky cave house style apartment. Comfortable double bed in main room, bathroom and kitchen clean. Supplied all you needed i.e. towels, toilet roll, toiletries, tea towels etc. Amazing location right in the centre of the old town, so many bars and restaurants nearby however not noisy at all.
This hotel/motel is literally on the beach, and our corner suite was immaculate, enormous (separate living room and little balcony/terrace), and nicely decorated. Much more than we expected for the price, and with free onsite parking to boot. Oh, breakfast was good, and so were gin and tonics on the patio!
We have been about 5 or 6 times and love the hotel . The family that run it are lovely, it is kept spotlessly clean and a lot of Spanish people holiday there too. It is in a great location there is a laundrette opposite and a supermarket below. It is a lovely area of Spain to explore very unspoiled
Lovely little casa by the beach, 8 minute drive from the old town. With plenty of choice for food and drinks nearby. Very calm and had a good sleep. Good value for money and clean. Dogfriendly! They have a resident cat so if your dog isn't cat friendly keep an eye out for its safety.
Absolutely stunning location. Charming little town. We are so glad we chose to stay in the town rather than the beach. Very romantic feel to everything. The owner provided the best recommendations so we were well prepared to have a great time. Thank you!!
Breakfast was not included as it was a pension rather than a hotel. The building was over 100 years old and in original condition with amazing features preserved. The balcony overlooked the townd and the ocean with the benefit of the rising sun.
Gorgeous view from balcony of gardens, Mojacar Pueblo, pools and the Mediterranean. Nice to have an enclosed pool for cooler weather swimming. Great to walk along the beach across the street. Nice big room and bathroom, cleaned daily.
Patricia was an amazing hostess. She was very helpful & took care of everything we needed. She is a very special person. The hotel is lucky to have her. We used the hotel as a home base to explore the amazing coastline in the area.
Breakfast was lovely
Very picturesque
Very friendly staff & owners
Very central to old town
Easy access to main mojacar, via very cheap bus ride
Very close to shops & bars
Lovely places to either have a coffee or tapas
The views from the terraces are fantastic. Breakfast was good with fresh orange juice, coffee, toast, fresh fruit and jams. The hotel was very peaceful and the pool was a welcome place to cool off and sit in shade.
Absolutely idyllic apartment in Mojacar pueblo. Stunning views to the sea and secreted away from the busy outside world by a cave-like staircase. Hosts were so welcoming and kind. We loved it.
The bed had a tempura mattress and it was the best bed I’ve ever slept in. Pillows super comfy also. This hotel is exceptional. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The food was lovely.
amazing location with a beautiful balcony! We could have sat on the balcony all evening, best spot in town! the staff was incredibly helpful and gave us many excellent recommendations.
Have stayed at this lovely hotel before, its location is very good, being close to the centre of Mojacar Playa, facilities, pool, bars are all excellent, great for a short break . . .
Lovely little hostal off the main square in Mojacar Pueblo. Nice room with balcony and comfy bed. Very central, and easy going; the owner was very helpful.
