Great location to visit the local sights and to visit Seahouses and Bamburgh. Hospitality second to none. Lovely staff nothing too much trouble . Breakfasts & dinners of the highest quality.
We would like to introduce you to The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate, a decadent place where colours collide, and imaginations are captured.

Decor is bright and uplifting. Room lighting has controls for all moods. Lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. Evening meal was first rate. Location just off the A1, so convenient when travelling to/from Scotland.
In the centre of Alnwick, this 300-year-old coaching inn is a short walk from Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Its restaurant’s decor was salvaged from the Titanic’s sister ship. Free parking is available....

The history and ambience of an old hotel. Loved the bar area but no bar food served after 6.00pm which is odd for a hotel .
Offering a garden and garden view, Rocking Chair Farmhouse is set in Alnwick, 20 km from Bamburgh Castle and 36 km from Lindisfarne Castle.

Alnwick Castle - and Gardens - and both very impressive and the castles interiors are amazing. It is close to the wonderful Northumberland coast which, although it can be a little cold, on the fine days which we had were brilliant, especially around Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh Castles and up to Lindisfarne/Holy Island as well as the Farne Islands. There were major roadworks in the town centre of Alnwick when we visited but think these will complete in next few days. We did not visit Alnwick itself, just drove through.

Alnwick is a good place to visit and is an ideal base for exploring the area.
There are a number of good restaurants and cafes.
Alnwick Castle is worth a visit, but don’t bother with Alnwick Gardens as they are small and over priced.

This was our first visit to Alnwick and we've fallen in love! There were so many intriguing and characterful shops to explore and we were spoilt for choice for lovely places to eat. We would whole heartedly recommend eating a SherKhan - some of the best curry we've ever had - and also The Adam and Eve.
Dirty Bottles is a fab venue, great for a drink but would skip the very averge food next time.

The castle and gardens were closed but we have been in them before and so we were not disappointed. A walk along the river at the back of the castle is very nice and a good test of your waterproofs and footwear. Hulne park has good walks. Alnwick is a beautiful town. Berwick and Morpeth nearby, complement the area.

Alnwick is an excellent centre for visiting many locations in Northumberland, with lots of scenic coastline and castles on your doorstep. There are plenty of excellent places to eat however if you are going to stay over a weekend I would recommend booking a table in advance as they all get very busy. If you want to book the treetop restaurant book months on advance to avoid disappointment. Alnwick castle and gardens are a must if you have never visited before.
This was a fantastic house for a family vacation, close to everything in Alnwick and convenient for groceries, etc. Everything we needed was in the house, great decor, great showers, plenty of towels and linens, etc. We didn't have a car but it was only 5-7 minutes walk from the bus that took us to Alnmouth, Amble, Warkworth, etc. Just a 10 minute walk to the centre of town or the castle. The owner was helpful and accommodating, all in all highly recommend the Old Sweet Shop for anyone vacationing in Northumberland!
What a lovely place we didn't know this hotel we just liked the name but its great, really homely and friendly, There is a mild Harry potter theme to the place being near to Alnwick Castle, in fact is almost next door to it. From the outside it just looks like a terraced building on the street but inside it's had a lot of money spent on the rooms and they are fab. We took advantage of cocktail hour and had a meal there too which was top class, Highly recommended.
The hostel was very good; the beds were very comfortable, there was free parking only a minute's walk away, and it was in a great location. Alnwick itself is a great little town, and there are a ton of castles nearby to visit (I personally thought Alnwick Castle was the least cool of the four we visited, but that's just me). All in all, I'm happy we stayed here.
Fantastic location in heart of historic area right next to Alnwick castle yet only a short walk from supermarket and bus station. Well appointed spacious apartment with a few quirky details e.g. guitar and old records which I liked as it made it feel homely. Definitely plan to stay again.
The apartment was spacious, clean, and overall a generally great place to stay for our short trip.
Convenient location too, as the shops and sightseeing opportunities around Alnwick and Northumberland, weren't far away at all. The host was helpful and onhand for any enquires too.
Ideal location, beautifully presented property with everything one could ask for. Spotlessly clean throughout one is a stones throw from all of Alnwick’s attractions. Would score this 11/10 if one could.
Perfect location to explore Alnwick and easy to find.
Host really helpful. Dirty bottles was a great suggestion for a meal out and would highly recommend.
Clean and well equipped.
We had a room in the annex which was very quiet considering the hotel’s location on a busy road junction.
Good place to stay when exploring Alnwick and surrounding areas
Great location for walking around Alnwick and walking distance from castle and gardens. Friendly hosts, hearty breakfasts and parking space for visitors
