Incredible location with stunning views. The hotel offers plenty of places for leisurely walks, which is perfect for those who enjoy nature. The staff is polite and welcoming, adding to the overall excellent experience. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful, enhancing our stay even further. Both breakfast and dinner were top-notch, with a great selection of delicious options. Additionally, the availability of parking, a spa, and a swimming pool made our stay convenient and relaxing. Highly recommend for a memorable getaway!
From our country house hotel by the sea, the only thing we overlook is the bay. Our spectacular clifftop location offers a 180 degree sea view over Carlyon Bay.

St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.

the people are very friendly.the scenery is amazing and carlyon bay and charlestown are amazing.we chose to eat in the hotel because the food is fresh cooked and excellent.we dont drive so we used cabs which were a reasonable price.lots of places inreasonable walking distance.in my opinion there were no places or things to avoid.
We liked the fact that the hotel was on the cliff overlooking Charlestown and Carolyn Bay. The hotel was a beautiful building with lots of comfy rooms and the dining area overlooked the sea. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. Lovely bar area and outside seating. The food in the restaurant was also delicious. Good central property if you like a walk and can tackle the hills and rough paths. Great size car park.
The food is exceptional
The manager is friendly and goes out of his way to help.
The room and bathroom were both bigger than most hotel rooms.
The curtains ( my pet hate). Actually closed properly and were blackout
They had a really good menu for evening meals in the pub/restaurant which are just downstairs so no messing about with walking out in the cold
It was nice to have a friendly welcome on arrival. The hotel is lovely and quiet even though it's close to the town centre. I had a very comfortable, warm room and really comfortable bed I had a wonderful night's sleep and enjoyed a delicious well cooked English breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner. I would definitely come again.
What a beautiful hotel, decorated to a very high standard, furnished exquisite, located wonderfully with spectacular views of the ocean and grounds and let’s not forget the food, it is faultless !
A very competent team of staff made our stay just perfect, well done all at the Carlyon Bay Hotel.
The room was too basic. Bed was uncomfortable.
The "full English" was poor with my poached egg leaving the water it was poached overy plate. The tomato had a lighter held over it to "grill" it.
The staff member who served us had bleach stains on his shirt.
Lovely spot poor hotel.
I stop off at St Austell because it is handy for so many attractions when you are, like me, using public transport. This was my third stay. It won't be my last. St Austell itself may be looking a bit neglected and that is a great shame but this hotel holds up hope for the future.
We loved the location of our Hotel. The Breakfast was excellent. We had a slight problem with our TV Aerial but that was quickly sorted out by the Hotel Manager. Every staff member was polite and courteous, excellent service we could not fault anything and would stay there again.
Breakfast was generous - and fresh fruit was lovely.
For evening meals, the Kings Arms is a short walk away, and does good beer and decent pub food.
For an alternative to pubs, try the Salty Bay Pizza place, a couple of miles away, and very nice pizza and salad
Superb hotel, rooms were a good size very nicely decorated with attention to detail and good facilities. The hospitality was wonderful and the breakfast exceptional! Will definitely come again and would highly recommend.
staff was really helpful, room was sufficient for my stay had a nice desk area I could do my work with ease, hotel was based in a great location. breakfast had a nice varied selection with customization
clean, tidy & the couple who own it are lovely. the beds were super comfortable! amenities were fab. for a small hotel it was comfortably running alongside the Carlyon Bay hotel in its efforts!
Located at rear of a residential bungalow in a Residential district, about a mile out of town centre. Close to lovely Carylon Bay, has a long sandy beach with great facilities.
The superior room was what we would have expected from a “Hotel and Spa”. The breakfast was good - variety of hot choices and some continental selection too.
