Fantastic location with beautiful landscaping. The vineyard is filled with wild flowers at this time of year and the walk down to the river to catch the boat was very special. Breakfast was very good - particularly the freshly squeezed orange juice (I'd guess from the estate) and the snack sandwich we had on arrival (roast beef) was AMAZING! Very helpful staff. I highly recommend.

Spectacular location in the middle of the Douro valley, the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful and is constantly running around doing her best to make her guests feel welcome. The wines are superb and I wish we could have brought some home!
Breakfast was good as well and the structure is nice and well maintained.

Quinta Nova is an amazing experience and the location and views are outstanding, the staff were lovely, although language was sometimes a challenge, they may have been a little short staffed while we were there as we did have to wait a while when we ordered drinks a few times. The position and overall experience was wonderful.

It was out of season and the hotel was extremely quiet. It was just a one night stopover and the weather was appalling.

One of the most beautiful places in the World. Don’t miss this area. Stay out of the large city. A vineyard hotel up high would be the perfect place. You’ll be able to drive through wonderful small villages in your way. Once in your hotel you’ll probably have access to a great personal or very small tour of the vineyard production facilities. We were invited to walk in the vineyard all we wanted. Views are absolutely amazing. We also stayed at the Barrel hotel which was touristy and filled with buses. Get up and away from the tourist crowd. We drive there Valley by car. It was easy and gorgeous.Mary Jo - 10Scored 10
Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food.
Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food. It is worth doing a wine tasting with visit to know the details about wine making and the varities of grapes. The landscape is exquisite and you feel an inner peace looking down the Douro river and the vineyards. The people are warm and happy, always ready to help. It is better to go by car to enjoy the full potential of the region. Be prepared to drive on hills with many curves and narrow roads. They also produce olive oil and it is delicious!!!

I spent there 2 nights, went for a boat tour, tasting in one of the vineyards and stayed in another. The Valenca do Douro is just stunning, I couldn't stop taking photos! It was a weekend trip, so 2 nights after spending 2 nights in Porto were just perfect. If travelled for longer we would probably do more tasting in more vineyards to see differences in the processes of wine production and longer day trips from the vineyard that we stayed at.MagdalenaUnited Kingdom

The views are stunning especially from the swimming pool. we did the wine tour which was truly excellent, we learned so much and really felt the tour was personal to us as we were the only ones doing it. The food was very good, especially the breakfast and the picnics which they bring to you by the pool and of course the wine with dinner was excellent! The hotel feels like it was built with love and is run with it too

It has the most beautiful views overlooking the vineyards and the Douro River. We had a room in the main building of the hotel which was very comfortable. Enjoyed our time by the infinity pool where you can sit under the trees looking out at the view. Very friendly staff. Liked the way self-service coffee, drinks and snacks were available. A few years ago the property was renovated, and the architect at a fabulous job with the winery, the end, and the seamless freshwater pool. Breakfast is very delicious with plenty of options. and the staff were extremely helpful. Two of the three nights first day we ate dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed it. The breakfast and the dinner are just amazing. 3 different types of cakes at breakfast ... We had wonderful dinner with a lot of wine and each meal was perfectly done ! Wines were amazing, dinners were out of this world cooked by Miguel as well. There's a genuine care on everything. Never visited same place twice but we are considering it now. And mostly because we simply want to visit them again. Don't expect a standard commercial hotel. This is a very unique guest house with genuine local people.
