Best hospitality on the entire Camino. I injured my foot shortly before arriving here. Yolanda showed me the most care and love. A pilgrim herself, she bandaged my foot herself, she brought me coffee up the next day when I couldn’t get downstairs, she made me an appointment with a physio as well as telling me about her pal who rents bicycles - which ultimately saved my Camino. After my own hiking poles broke 3 days before she donated me a new one - which got me to Santiago. She also does give a wonderful stamp, but only if you do stay at the Albergue. And do because it’s one of the most memorable stays now of the Camino because of the absolute kindness shown.
It's a nice small town, very charming and picturesque.
It's a nice small town, very charming and picturesque. Nice parks to walk around, plenty of restaurants and cafes. It's small so easy to get around by walking. Did not partake of the hot springs but this town definitely famous for them.

Caldas de Reis is a beautiful, walkable village.
Caldas de Reis is a beautiful, walkable village. There is a 30-minute walk to a waterfall that I wanted to take but it was too hot that afternoon. It was too hot to take advantage of the hot pools as well. It would have been nice to stay another day here, take a rest day. The restaurants looked really nice as well.

Caldas de Reis is a regular stop-over on the Camino Portuguese. The main square with palm trees is lovely. There are cafes and you can sit there have coffee and enjoy, I only made a one night stop so can't really say much more.

We only stayed in Caldas de Reis as we were walking the Camino Portugese. We saw lots of things that'd been nice to further explore if we'd had a couple of days there....river, historic buildings etc.
The host Victoria was excellent in providing information before we arrived and greeted us with kindness.
Aires do Umia is very centrally located in Caldas de Reis, which is a lovely community.
The room was very comfortable and peaceful and had a great shower and huge towels. The bed was very comfortable and the room had good ventilation.
We had access to a nice kitchen area and sitting area. Victoria provided coffee and a light breakfast and we were able to store a few things in the refrigerator.
Casa Herreria is a little piece of paradise in Caldas de Reis. This small boutique hotel has everything you could ask for - and more. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. We were offered drinks, fruit, chocolates, etc free of charge. There was a large garden with swimming pool and various outdoor furnishings. The attention to detail in the rooms and communal seating areas was wonderful - we can highly recommend Casa Herreria!
The garden was beautiful and spacious. The pool was lovely to stand in at the end of the walk to cool down. It was really clean and the whole property was well maintained and well looked after. The staff were really friendly. The food was good (breakfast is included and they offer a "menu of the day" for 11€).
It was brilliant to stay outside of the next town (Caldas de Reis). It was so quiet and peaceful. The walk there was beautiful.
This was my favorite place of all places I stayed on the Camino. Very charming. Manuel and Feenando were very helpful and their reception of me was very friendly. I loved the room and that it had air conditioning. It was the only place in Spain where I stayed that had AC. I loved the pool and I was entertained by the lawn roomba. Very short walk to good restaurants. I would rate it a 12 out of 10.
Mercedes and her Mother and all the staff were so kind and nice. They provided restaurant recommendations and some interesting history about the town (the map of Caldas de Reis from 1885 is very interesting). The breakfast was very tasty and set us up for a day of walking the Camino de Santiago. The hotel has a feel of luxury which was a nice treat halfway through our Camino.
This was by far the best hotel we stayed at on our Caminho and was right on the route
The staff were so helpful and friendly, there was a lovely garden and swimming pool and a bar that was open during the day.
The decor was bright and welcoming and rooms were very comfy.
Thankyou for such a lovely stay in your family hotel. Definitely worth much more than 1 Star!
Lovely to get my own room in this Albergue. There was great affordable washer and dryer that really helped! Location was in the center of Caldas de Reis so it was great. There was a restaurant right across the Albergue so it was easy to get food. But there was also a kitchen to cook! Wifi was great too!
Thank you Joli for making my 2 night stay so special! Your wealth of knowledge about the beautiful town of Caldas de Reis was happily shared and I had the BEST time in your very special Albergue… oh and with the most beautiful stamps on the camino! 🙏🏻🥰
we were actually put in the hotel so the hotel room was smaller than the pictures of the room that I thought I had booked. but it was a good and quiet room. nice beds and good bathroom and coffee in the room
Low priced. Clean. While on the Camiño from Porto to Santiago de Compostela, I typically stayed in hotels but opted for this hostel on my overnight stay in Caldas de Reis.
It was clean. The hot spring pool was a plus. Tbh we were simply booking for our resting spot during the camino and didn't realize it was a spa/hotel. Very nice.
