The hotel itself and the surroundings are gorgeous. There are plenty of things to do nearby, and the surrounding area has heaps of lovely walks and hikes right on your doorstep - if you're feeling adventurous, be sure to check out Finsthwaite Tower. The choice of places to eat in the hotel, as well as room service was fantastic, and we were very impressed with the facilities on offer at the Swan - both the leisure suite and the Spa/Thermal Suite were excellent. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome by everyone we came into contact with during our stay. The treatments in the Spa were incredible, and our only disappointment was that we hadn't pre-booked more of them! Our room was lovely, and we had a beautiful view across the river. The hotel itself was nice and quiet and despite booking during off-peak, it still felt very vibrant and had a great atmosphere to it. We had some car trouble the day before we were due to check out which meant we had to wait for a local garage to try and fix our car, the staff at the Swan couldn't have been more helpful - checking to make sure we were okay and even going as far as to reserve a room for us incase our car wasn't fixed in time for our check out, which was a weight lifted. Overall we couldn't fault the hotel and its fantastic facilities - it was our first time staying at the Swan, and we're still talking about how lovely it was! We are already planning our next trip back and have recommended the hotel to friends and family. Thanks so much to all the staff at the Swan, we had a memorable trip and look forward to staying with you all again soon.

It was right next to the lake ferry giving easy access to other parts of the lake. Vouchers were given for the car park very close by.
there was a great path, one mile long leading to Newby Bridge, where we sat outside by the river with a relaxing drink.

A pleasantly situated hotel on the river.
A pleasantly situated hotel on the river. Our room was large and overall comfy, with a great bed. However, we found the hotel overpriced particularly foodwise which we felt was of standard quality. We had numerous negative feelings and left a day earlier. The hotel did refund a days stay which was good of them. My husband and I have much experience of hotels, Food service, customer service and felt this hotel could be so much better if they revert to first class service. I would not choose to stay there again, sadly.

The only negative was that the lakeside allowed Dogs in the hotel. I love dogs but think when you go to an expensive hotel you don’t need dogs staying in the bedrooms.
The Huntsman pub was very good for food.
While we were eating our meal there were 3 dogs running around the pub and not under control.
This was bad owners not bad dogs.
Beautiful location
Nice cosy B&B 20 min drive from Bowness-on-Windemere. The room was warm, which was a relief after getting wet during the day. Small bathroom but fine for a weekend. There is only a big overhead shower, no handheld one (personal preference). Colin was super nice and we were able to change our BF time to early morning so we could make the most of the day. He offers a good choice for BF with various cereals, musli, fruit, toast and English BF. Parking is easy on the property. I'd stay again.
Our stay was lovely! couldnt recommend Newby Bridge Caraven Park enough. After needing to change the date due to the loss of my Father the staff were so helpful. The caravan was lovely spacious and modern and the little touches of the bag of treats/toys for our dog and the bottles of prosecco on arrival were extremely thoughtful. This is the 2nd time i have stayed and will definately be back.
Nothing.....The staff were poor, the rates and bar charges were diabolical, the jacuzzi was absolutely toxic, stinking of extra strong chlorine, we had a family room, 2 adults and one child and we had one bath towel and one hand towel between us for 2 days, no breakfast included, so we paid for extra breakfasts at 12.50 each, big mistake, I will never stay at newby bridge hotel again...
The rooms were excellent very comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing and the serving staff were professional couteous and so happy. The bar area is small but cosy. There are restaurant facilities with nice menu. Spa and pool available. The conservatory area is very light and comfortable. Lovely views of the lake. Overall a lovely place to stay.
From start to finish the staff were all so accommodating. They couldn’t do enough to help. I was given a later check out to allow me to use the pool facilities before checking out. The hotel is so dog friendly- the pub is brilliant too. Great food. Great views . Will certainly be returning. :) thank you Newby Bridge for a wonderful stay.
Fine lake views, very enjoyable from the terrace on a fine day over lunch or afternoon tea. The food was fine, wholesome and imaginative. The staff are universally friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. The boats to the rest of the lake were very close by. Better than the photos, the swimming pool is long enough for good exercise.
Excellent location, near to the steam train and the aquarium and boat pick up point. Good range of facilities: swimming pool and pub within the hotel. The china cups for tea in the room was a nice touch. Our room also had a nice view of the garden. The lady who welcomed us at breakfast initially was very efficient and welcoming.
Hotel is in a great location in the southern tip of Windermere with pretty views. Literally a few steps away and you can grab the boat to Bowness or Ambleside. same with a small steam train to Haverthwaite. Spa facilities were lovely. Breakfast was typical, nothing amazing but nothing I felt was missing also.
The property was well placed, on a river for which we had a lake view which was lovely. Spa facility was really nice although almost cost as much as proper, don’t really think it was worth £50pp at all unless treatments already included
