We have just spent 3 nights at Hotel San Marco.
Location - Great location. We walked everywhere. We got the 199 airlink bus from the airport to the station then it is about 25mins walk to the hotel, 30 mins to the Arena, 40 mins To Erbo Square. The routes are safe and interesting. There are buses if you prefer not to walk.
Room - The twin room we had was fine size wise, simply decorated and had the necessities. The bathroom was nice, great fluffy towels and toilettries.
Breakfast - Great breakfast selection. Everything you could want and more. 7-10am so a nice long window. Would give breakfast full stars.
Wifi - Great in our room.
Pool - We liked having the outdoor pool for a quick dip after a day sightseeing.
This property offers a Special Protection Program, a strict program of precise safeguards dedicated to our guests and our staff.

Hotel room was better than I was expecting-spacious, lots of wardrobe space, amazing bathroom and a lovely balcony. The hotel happily stored our luggage when we arrived early and provided a basic packed breakfast when we had to leave early in the morning.

A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalised in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.
Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.
Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheatre which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theatre whose remains are partly beneath a house.
The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which offer cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laidback and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.
Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

Lovely city and walkable, no need for public transport unless you want to explore out of the city. Check opening times of monuments and museums, as some are closed on a Monday. A lot of history to see and experience. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars.

It was awesome to meet with family and Verona was the perfect location as it is small and you get to walk and go to nearby lakes and spend the day with dear ones. We ate at a lovely restaurant IL PUNTO ROSA. the food is awesome and the service is excellent. They also have great desserts and very reasonable prices. We loved it!!
The attractions are easy to get to. Has very lively piazzas and very nice people. Yes, Verona is nice to go but you must get a nice bed and a nice home made breakfast.

Our host was amazing! They provided great customer service with good communication and smooth access to the apartment which was a perfect fit for our 6 night stay in Verona. The location could not have been better, it was an easy and safe walk to/from the train station and the historic center. The light and spacious apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood with all the latest amenities. The clothes washing machine and well equiped kitchen was an added bonus! This will be our 'go to' spot when in northern Italy!
We booked the apartment for a one night stay in Verona. It was very clean and had everything needed for self catering. We had been travelling around Italy and Croatia and it was nice to have somewhere to relax for a few hours before exploring beautiful VErona. I was also able to use the washing machine (not a usual thing I look for on holiday!) which was useful after a few weeks of travelling. Felt very safe and the flat was very modern. It was nice to have a little balcony to sit on too.
The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was always ready to serve & fresh, good selection. . Dinner available if wanted in the restaurant - my daughter & I took advantage of this on our day of arrival - prices were similar to those in the city. Helpful desk staff. Housekeeping very good. Bus tickets available at reception. Good bus service from there. Arranged taxi when required & cheaper. A little outside of Verona, we didn't find this a problem.
It is located right between the train station and the historic center, so not a long walk on either direction. The hotel is simple but it was a comfortable stay. The room was clean and had a good size, and the staff was helpful. The bed is a bit too hard for my taste, but we noticed this to be a pattern in this region of Italy, so perhaps just a local pattern and a matter of individual preference. Great staff, very friendly and helpful!
The house/flat is extremely cozy, comfortable, clean, and very pleasant. Chiara gave me the instructions very clearly. Of all the places I stayed in Italy, this house was undoubtedly the best in every aspect. It's worth being with family or friends and enjoying a good time in this place. If I return to Verona I will definitely stay in this apartment again.
Lovely hotel with bags of character - a genuinely characterful and unique property in Verona, surely the most authentic, romantic and intriguing property available at this level of quality. A true boutique. We had a glorious couple of nights here on our honeymoon. The service was exceptional and we were upgraded with a beautiful cake in our room on arrival.
Verona is the most beautiful city in Italy, and the Hotel Porta Palio is great value for the price. It has a free private parking garage on site. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is just an 8-10 minute taxi drive from old town Verona (8-12 Euros). The hotel breakfast was great, and we enjoyed our stay.
This stunning small hotel was a highlight of my Italy trip! Decorated in modern Italian, antiques and kitsch with a lovely breakfast spread. The bed was so comfy I did not want to leave. Staff was welcoming and fun as I tried to use my basic Italian-- they, of course, spoke perfect English. Verona is a sweet town.
The location of the apartment is perfect it’s near from the central station and Verona center, if you want to enjoy it better. You can rent electric scooter it’s also cheap. The appartement is also nice but the problem is the bathroom you need to wait if it’s occupied. In total it’s really good appartement/hotel.
The staff were wondering to deal with throughout our stay. I liked the artwork by one artist on each level and the manager called a local gallery who I later met with and to buy prints by the artist. Verona is a beautiful city and we were so happy to have stayed at this hotel.
Beautiful property, great location for exploring Verona. Lovely room with everything you needed for a short stay. The breakfast provided is wonderful and brought to your room which is such a luxury. The host has such a pride over the hotel and the city which shows throughout.
What can I say, view, breakfast, location, staff all were on point. This was one of our favorite places of the 8 places we stayed on our 3 week trip to Italy. I will recommend this oasis in Verona to all I know.
It was beautiful and lovely to have breakfast in our room. The room was quiet and the hotel is very centrally located in the best area of Verona. The staff was very thorough in their orientation.
Beautiful and cozy room, and the most complete breakfast I've eaten so far in my trip in Italy. Virginia doesn't speak much English, but she is very friendly, nice and makes herself understood.
Cheapest hotel in the very city center of Verona... just few minutes from the Arena. Welcoming staff, clean and the air conditioning has definitely help during the torrid night.
Location is great, the room is really big compared to another places stay in Italy. Common area as well is quite nice. Angie was really nice I would stay here again for sure
